Wood Spice Racks | Raven Winds Studio

Made from blue-stained pine, the unexpectedly beautiful result of mountain pine beetle ravaged lodgepole and ponderosa pines. The fungus that accompanies the beetle larvae spreads a blue stain through the tree as it kills it. This has devastated forests throughout the west, but leaves a structurally sound and wonderfully blue-tinted wood for woodworkers and home builders.

The racks are created from aspen and cedar branches sliced lengthwise.

Each rack is finished with a non-toxic butcher block finish. Racks are available with or without the chickadee ornament and with or without spice jars.
